I believe we need to employ creative solutions and work together to build economically vibrant communities that people want to move to and our children want to stay in. I grew up in Bethel and have worked for years bringing people with differing points of view together to address our challenges. As your representative and as a member of the Committee on Commerce and Economic Development, I used these same skills and experience working to:
· Rebuild an economy that puts Vermonters back to work with decent-paying jobs
· Create a Vermont where all people are valued and can participate in their communities without fear of bias and racism
· Expand broadband so everyone can access education, work, and resources from home
· Address opiate addiction and mental health problems head on
· Protect our state colleges and expand technical-training opportunities
· Expand access to affordable child care and early childhood education
· Increase healthcare access for all while bringing costs under control
· Explore creative solutions to fund education and reduce property taxes
· Fight the climate crisis in a way that builds economic opportunities and ensures a healthy future
This past session we made progress on these issues but there is still a lot of work to be done.
I would appreciate your vote.
