I first met Kirk White, our incumbent State Representative for Bethel, Stockbridge, Rochester and Hancock when he first ran for election in 2020.

 

Over his time in office, I have emailed him several times with either questions, concerns, or to share my position on an issue. I have always gotten a personal, thoughtful, and detailed reply and when appropriate, he has taken action on issues of concern.

 

As ranking member of the House Commerce and Economic Development committee, Kirk has worked hard to promote the trades, support small businesses, and help small rural towns and their schools. Much ado has been made about 2024’s ill fated Act 181, whose main focus was easing restrictions on housing construction in Vermont’s cities and villages. When issues arose for some rural landowners with parts of the bill, the legislature amended the bill to remove the onerous costs in 2026.

If re-elected, I am confident he will continue to work to preserve our community’s working landscapes with sensible land use rules that protect our vital resources, encourage affordable housing, and allow Vermont’s rural economy to thrive.

I encourage you to join me in voting for Kirk for State Representative along with all of the Democrats on the ballot. If you are currently registered to vote, your ballot will be mailed to you by October 1. Fill it out and drop it off at your Town Clerk’s office anytime before Election Day, November 3rd.

I am grateful to Kirk White and support him as my representative in the Vermont House.  I live in Rochester and he also represents Bethel, Hancock, and Stockbridge.  Kirk frequently come to our meetings of local Democrats, keeping us informed about the legislature and taking time to listen to our concerns.  He grew up in Bethel and continues to support that town's revitalization.

I strongly support his priorities including the following:

- He strongly supports expanding access to quality, affordable childcare.

- Kirk is working to find ways to fund our schools in a sustainable, equitable way.
- I also appreciate his attention to clean-energy solutions, knowing that they can attract clean jobs and help build climate resilience.

So I am asking you to help our communities by supporting Kirk White in the upcoming general election.

I first met Kirk White at a Bethel Business Association Event. I was impressed with his willingness to pursue creative solutions. I joined him as a volunteer with the Bethel Revitalization Initiative and Bethel University. He continues to show me
that he works for me and area families to solve problems with creative solutions.

Kirk grew up in Bethel and has been a leader in several initiatives. Through his work in creating the Bethel Revitalization Initiative and Bethel University he has developed the knowledge and skill needed to present our interests at the state
level.

I have been a member of the Bethel Recreation Committee since 2010. As I have worked to bring important recreation activities at the Bethel Recreation Center to Bethel families, Kirk has been a strong supporter. Kirk also lets me know about
his creative solutions through his update e-mails on what is going on in Montpelier.

I urge all to support his continue effects by re-electing Kirk White as our Representative for the House of Representatives.
